Mental Health Nurse Practitioner:

  • Reporting to the Medical Director of Mental Health and Substance Use Services, and working with a supervising psychiatrist, the Nurse Practitioner provides primary and mental health care and services to persistent and seriously mentally ill clients. Primary responsibilities include psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, pharmacologic (including depot atypical antipsychotic medications) and other forms of treatment (such as motivational interviewing) of mental health clients. Substance use evaluation and referral is also an essential function of the position. 
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health treatment both therapeutic and psychopharmacologic and is expected to be fully trained and experienced in medical evaluation, examination and treatment of mental health and substance use patients. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a medical environment such as an emergency room, psychiatric emergency or medical clinic.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate a mastery of the protocols outlining their scope of practice, work effectively and collaboratively in a team with different disciplines and with clients from different age groups.


Mental Health Unit Supervisor - Residential Services:

  • Reporting to the Adult/Older Adult Services Division Director, the Residential Services Unit Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Residential Services Team, a team that coordinates and monitors all Mental Health Residential Placements. Placements include all levels of care supported by Marin Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (BHRS) including supported independent living, in- and out-of-county Board and Care homes, Mental Health Rehabilitation Centers, Skilled Nursing Facilities and state hospital admissions. This position reports to the Division Director over Adult and Older Adult Services. It is responsible for oversight of all adult BHRS residential services with a total annual budget of $4.5M. 
  • The ideal candidate has experience with contracts and budget monitoring, and has the ability to initiate and maintain positive working relationships with contracted entities. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of LPS Law, familiarity with various mental health levels of care, and the ability to make sound clinical decisions within a context of shifting and sometimes competing needs. The ideal candidate will have experience supervising a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be highly organized, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully participate in collaborative relationships within BHRS and Health & Human Services.​
